Their is an emergence of the art and culture movement on the Bellarine Peninsula. As well as fine dining, the number of local artists that cover all mediums are emerging.  There works are on display at local restaurants, café and wineries. Various cafes and restaurants now cater for our multicultural society.

Despite its small population, Portarlington is fast becoming the place to visit for lunch. The town has Turkish, Indian, Italian and Spanish food on offer as well as fish and chips, pizza, and a choice of other foods from the 2 hotels.
